Análisis musical e interpretativo en las canciones Oh Happy Day, Fallin y Night Time is the Right Time.

Abstract

El objetivo de esta monografía es analizar la prevalencia y el impacto de los géneros musicales góspel y Rhythm and Blues (R&B) en la actualidad, dos estilos que, a pesar de su amplia popularidad, cuentan con escasa información documentada. En este trabajo, se destacarán fragmentos representativos de interpretaciones musicales de ambos géneros, enfocándose en los elementos característicos de cada uno. En particular, se subrayará la relevancia de las voces y el piano como componentes esenciales tanto en el R&B como en el góspel por medio de un análisis cualitativo de las canciones Oh Happy Day, Night Time is the Rigth, Fallin. Estos fragmentos no solo servirán como una herramienta interpretativa, sino también como un recurso valioso para aquellos interesados en profundizar en el estudio de estos géneros musicales.

The objective of this monograph is to analyze the prevalence and impact of the gospel and Rhythm and Blues (R&B) musical genres today, two styles that, despite their wide popularity, have little documented information. In this work, representative fragments of musical performances of both genres will be highlighted, focusing on the characteristic elements of each one. In particular, the relevance of voices and piano as essential components in both R&B and gospel will be highlighted through a qualitative analysis of the songs Oh Happy Day, Fallin, Night Time is the Rigth. These fragments will not only serve as an interpretive tool, but also as a valuable resource for those interested in delving deeper into these musical genres.
