Rafael Mejía Romani, compositor barranquillero de música popular, cuyo quehacer artístico trascendió fronteras, dejó un legado valioso que indudablemente enriquece el patrimonio cultural de nuestra región. Esta investigación recopila su obra en un catálogo, resume su carrera en el ámbito musical y comparte, además de algunas transcripciones de sus melodías, un interesante material audiovisual que complementa y contextualiza la lectura de su producción como compositor. A través de un proceso exhaustivo de análisis documental se pudo reunir y organizar información valiosa, al igual que rescatar material de archivo crucial para lograr los objetivos trazados. Los resultados del trabajo han sido adaptados y llevados a la Internet para facilitar su consulta, logrando, a través de la construcción del sitio web rafaelmejiaromani.com una herramienta flexible y actualizable para el estudio, apreciación, reconocimiento y difusión de la obra del compositor.
Abstract
Rafael Mejía Romani, a popular music composer from Barranquilla, whose artistic work transcended borders, left a valuable legacy that undoubtedly enriches the cultural heritage of our region. This research compiles his work into a catalog, summarizes his career in the musical field, and shares, in addition to some transcriptions of his melodies, interesting audiovisual material that complements and contextualizes the reading of his production as a composer. Through an exhaustive process of documentary analysis, valuable information was gathered and organized, as well as crucial archival material rescued to achieve the outlined objectives. The results of this work have been adapted and made available online to facilitate access, creating through the website rafaelmejiaromani.com a flexible and updatable tool for the study, appreciation, recognition, and dissemination of the composer’s work.
